Cupping is a simple adjunct therapy for improving circulation and relieving pain. Our therapists place a plastic cup on the patient's back and use a vacuum pump to pressurize the cup. This produces a mild suction effect on the skin. The result is something of a "reverse massage" - rather than pushing your skin downwards, it is gently lifted up into the cups. This form of cupping is called "dry" cupping and/or "vacuum" cupping. It is painless and most patients actually find it quite relaxing.
